Exclusive Pet Grooming – FAQs

Exclusive Pet Grooming – FAQs

Why is my appointment scheduled for a 2 hour Interval instead of an exact time?

We schedule in 2 hour intervals to accommodate for traffic, weather, and unforeseen grooming delays. Because of these unpredictable events, groomers may be ahead or behind schedule; therefore, it’s nearly impossible to give an exact time. Each client is important and we do our very best to stay on time—if an unforeseen event occurs, we’ll contact you as soon as possible.

Do you need to hook up to my home for power or water?

No. Our state of the art van is equipped with a commercial Onan generator, and a battery powered inverter system to supply all of our appliances. We have separate water tanks: one filled daily with fresh water and another to store grey water. Plus, unlike other mobile grooming services, our vans are equipped with water heaters in order to provide a warm bath for your pet, and air conditioning to keep them cool during hot summer days.

Do you groom older dogs and puppies?

Yes. We have no age restrictions on the dogs we groom; however, our groomers have the final word on how much time it will take for both young and old dogs. We also offer a discount on all puppies’ first grooming session.

Why is a shave down sometimes more expensive than a regular haircut?

In many cases a pet’s fur is matted, has extremely thick hair, is excessively dirty or has other conditions which make shaving more difficult than a normal haircut, and necessary. Shaving, especially a dirty, matted coat, also subjects our clippers and blades to wear and tear which can be costly to maintain or replace. Most importantly, great care and extra time is required in an effort to shave the coat properly, without hurting your pet and making them feel as comfortable as possible.

My pet has a lot of mats/tangles. Is it necessary to shave them out?

It depends on the severity. Minor mats may be worked out, but often shaving or dematting is necessary. Severe mats can cause skin irritations and hide other conditions such as hot spots, dermatitis, seborrhea, cuts, scabs, sores and redness. It is not unusual to encounter these problems when the coat is shaved from a badly matted pet, and it is definitely in your and your pet’s best interest to address them early.

What can I do to keep my pet from matting?

Here are a few tips that should make your pet’s life and yours easier:

Can I inspect the mobile salon or stay with my pet during the grooming?

You’re welcome to inspect the inside of the van from the doorways or windows only. For your safety, our insurance carrier prohibits anyone being inside the van except our groomers.

Why is mobile grooming more expensive than a grooming salon?

Mobile grooming is a specialized service that brings convenience to your doorstep. It’s a  one-on-one personal service from start to finish. The majority of salons have a high turnaround on employees, and rely on a high volume of dogs in order to meet their operational costs.
